Pay in installments with KlarnaThe proportional dosing device R142DP is installed upstream the boiler (or the domestic hot water generator), on the cold water inlet pipe coming from the aqueduct and is used for the anti-scale and anti-corrosion treatment of the hydraulic systems used for the production of domestic hot water.
Advantages:
- The R142DP proportional polyphosphate dosing unit complies with Ministerial Decree 25/2012.
- The proportional polyphosphate dispenser R142DP has a strong anti-scale action up to a water hardness of about 25/30°f. For higher values it is recommended to install a water softener in combination with the dosing system
Characteristics:
- Fluid of use: water
- Temperature range: 5÷30 °C
- Maximum working pressure: 7 bar
- Maximum flow rate: 20 l/min
- Adjustable inlet/outlet connection (in 90° steps)
- Integrated automatic by-pass system
Materials:
- Swivel fitting: chromed brass
- Upper body: PA66-GF30
- Cup: PA
- Bellows: food grade NBR
- O-Ring: food grade NBR
Operation:
Domestic water that is heated in the boiler undergoes an abrupt rise in temperature which, due to the calcium and magnesium salts it contains, causes a chemical reaction that leads to the formation of calcareous scale and corrosion of the pipes. The proportional dispenser is used to treat part of the water that enters the boiler, enriching it with sodium and potassium phosphates, which are useful in creating a protective film inside the pipes that protects them from lime scale attacks. The R142DP dispenser is equipped with a diverter valve that acts automatically: it closes when the tumbler is opened for maintenance and opens automatically when the tumbler is hung up. When the valve is open, part of the water flow from the aqueduct enters the tumbler and is sucked by the suction bellows and reintroduced into the distribution line together with a quantity of polyphosphates proportioned according to the flow rate (Venturi principle). There is also a manual screwdriver air vent valve (Ref. 6 - Components), to vent the air after maintenance operations.
The polyphosphate dispenser must be installed
- upstream of the boiler, on the cold water inlet pipe from the aqueduct
- in a vertical position, with the air vent valve facing upwards. Thanks to the adjustable fitting, it is possible to install it both on vertical and horizontal pipe sections
- following the direction of flow indicated on the body of the fitting.
- It is recommended to install a check valve (R60) upstream of the polyphosphate dosing unit.
Maintenance:
In order to ensure the correct functioning of the dispenser, it is necessary to provide some maintenance operations:
- Monthly maintenance: visual check for any liquid leakage; visual check and eventual restoration of the polyphosphate level (average duration 10/12 m3 of treated water)
- Biennial maintenance: replacement of the O-ring of the cup; possible replacement of the bellow if damaged
