The Edimax GP-101IT is a Power over Ethernet injector that not only offers a cost-effective solution for power distribution, but also enables seamless integration into existing LAN infrastructure. Thanks to the power injectors, up to 30 W AC power and data from a non-PoE switch or router can be transferred to IEEE 802.3at/af compliant products such as PoE dome cameras via Ethernet cabling. This avoids an investment in new hardware components such as additional PoE switches.
By adding the capabilities of the IEEE 802.3at/af Power over Ethernet standard to the non-PoE Ethernet switch or router the GP-101IT can be directly connected with any IEEE 802.3at/af end node such as PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) network cameras, PTZ speed-dome cameras, Voice over IP (VoIP) color touch-screen telephones and multi-channel wireless LAN access points that support IEEE 802.3at/af in-line Power over Ethernet port.
Power over Ethernet technology enables both data and power over the Ethernet cable. Therefore, the GP-101IT decreases the need for cable installation and eliminates the need for extension cords or electrical outlets on the wall, ceiling, or any other hard-to-reach place. Overall, it reduces installation costs and simplifies distribution integration.
