Ozone is a gas naturally present in the stratosphere and is our natural protection from harmful UV rays. In high concentrations it has a bluish colour and a pungent odour and its concentration in the atmosphere is about 0.04 ppm (parts per million - 1 ppm = 2mg/m3).
In nature ozone can be generated by the strong electric discharge of a lightning; after a thunderstorm its smell can be perceived. The electrical discharge, acting on the oxygen molecule O2, transforms it into a new molecule O3, i.e. ozone. Because of its high reactivity, ozone tends to dissociate into O2 + O, which is responsible for the high oxidizing power of ozone. Therefore ozone tends to disappear naturally after a certain time interval, reducing to oxygen, without leaving any trace.
Ozone can also be generated artificially through a process called Corona effect starting from the oxygen naturally present in the air and using a machine called ozonizer, which produces electrical discharges inside it. Its high oxidizing power was discovered by Christian Friedrich Schönbein in 1840; it is so high that it achieves disinfection in less contact time and in lower concentrations than other disinfectants such as chlorine, chlorine dioxide and mono-chloramine.
Nowadays, ozone helps us to solve many aspects related to air and water pollution and its use is becoming more and more widespread, since its range of action goes from the most professional environments (hospitals, food industries, communities, gyms, beauty centres, swimming pools...) to the most domestic ones, which are more familiar to us, such as our homes and our cars. The use of ozone generates a process of oxidation of the air in the environment where the treatment is carried out.

The inactivation effect of bacteria, viruses, moulds etc...depends on its concentration in the air and on the exposure time. Applications:

Placement:
- The device must be placed in a place where air can freely circulate around the device. Therefore, avoid placing it in niches, close to walls, etc.. It is recommended to place it at a height of 1.5m. Select the duration of the treatment following the indications of the destruction manual. Respect the times indicated in the instruction manual before staying in the room. Under actual conditions, the natural decay time required to make the premises accessible is at least 2 hours. If possible, it is preferable to carry out the treatments during the night hours so that at the resumption of the work the quantity of environmental ozone is within the limits of sanitary safety. The product should never be used in the presence of people or animals.
Maintenance:
