The GSD-803 is an 8-port Gigabit Ethernet switch that offers both the advantages of energy saving and Gigabit cable speed performance. It is specially designed for home, SOHO and enterprise networks.
The GSD-803 incorporates two advanced Green Networking technologies and is able to provide up to 40 percent less energy savings, yet maintain high performance efficiently.
Hibernation Link Down power saving: Hibernation Link Down power saving goes beyond IEEE specifications to automatically reduce power for a given port when it is not connected. With Hibernation Link Down power-saving technology, the GSD-803 will automatically adjust the power consumption of ports that are off or not connected to the network device.
Intelligent Power Scale Based on Cable Length: Intelligent Scale Power, the other technology adopted, is an intelligent algorithm that actively determines the appropriate power level based on cable length. When the GSD-803 is connected with an Ethernet cable shorter than 20 m, a device can achieve maximum power savings because the GSD-803 will automatically detect the length of the Ethernet cable and reduce power consumption. The connected device can substantially reduce the overall power consumption, which contributes significantly to energy saving.
The GSD-803 is designed with a modern and easy compact metal housing for deploying high-speed Gigabit networks in home or SOHO applications. Providing a 16 Gbps internal switching structure, the GSD-803 can handle an extremely large amount of data in a secure topology by connecting to a high-capacity backbone or server. The GSD-803 provides 4K MAC address table and wire-speed packet transfer performance without risk of packet loss. The device's high data rate makes it ideal for most Gigabit environments, especially for upgrading the network to a Gigabit environment.
All RJ-45 copper interfaces of the GSD-803 support 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation for optimal speed detection via RJ-45 Category 5, 5e or 6 cables. They support the standard auto-MDI/MDI-X function that can detect the type of connection to any Ethernet device without requiring special straight or crossed cables.
The GSD-803 can connect directly to department switches or backbone servers. With up to 16 Gigabits per second of non-blocking switch fabric, the GSD-803 can be used to create a high-bandwidth Gigabit switched network quickly and easily.
