Pay in installments with KlarnaThe DGS-1210 belongs to the third generation of Web Smart Switches to feature D-Link, which integrates advanced management and security for performance and scalability of the applications. Featuring an innovative fanless design that ensures quiet operation and a longer life span, the DGS-1210 is a complete and affordable solution for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMES). Seamless integration The DGS-1210 includes 8/16/24/48 10/100/1000 Mbps ports capable of connecting to the cables to twisted-pair, category 5 existing. Also, the last four ports of the DGS-1210 series combine in a single port SFP/ connectivity in copper and therefore provide a flexible solution for server connections via fiber interface. Using the default presets, the administrator can quickly set up the switch without worrying about reconfiguring any settings and providing easy access to users. Support Power over Ethernet (PoE) (DGS-1210-08P, DGS-1210-24P) The DES-1210-08P has 8 ports PoE. These ports provide up to 15.4 W. The DES-1210-24P has 12 PoE ports. These ports provide up to 30W. This gives administrators the flexibility to connect devices that are compatible with 802.3 af, such as network cameras, and IP phones, as well as previous devices to the standard 802.3 at as example, Access Point 802.11 n. For the first time, the PoE functionality is programmable: in certain moments, it is thus possible to reduce the power consumption to save energy. Extensive Layer 2 features Equipped with a complete lineup of L2 features, these switches include IGMP snooping, port mirroring, the Spanning Tree protocol, and the protocol for LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol (lacp). The function of flow control 802.3 x IEEE allows servers to directly connect to the switch to perform a transfer of data is quick and reliable. To 2000 Mbps in full-duplex mode, the Gigabit ports provide data pipes to servers at high speeds with minimal losses in data transfer. Among the network management functions are present, the loopback detection and cable diagnostics. Loopback detection is used to detect loops created by a specific port and automatically shut down the affected port. The cable diagnostics is designed for network administrators to quickly examine the quality of the copper cables and determine the type of cable error. QoS & bandwidth control The switch is perfect for deployment in a VoIP environment, as it supports auto voice VLAN and QoS DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point) for VoIP application. The auto voice VLAN will automatically place voice traffic from an IP phone to an assigned VLAN and by doing so enhance the VoIP service. With a higher priority and individual VLAN, this feature guarantees the quality and security of VoIP traffic. DSCP marks parts of an IP packet, enabling different levels of service to be assigned to network traffic. Thanks to bandwidth control, the network administrator can reserve bandwidth for important functions that require a larger bandwidth or might have high priority. Protect your network's unique Safeguard Engine function of D-Link protects the switch against traffic flooding caused by virus attacks. The switch also supports authentication, 802.1 X port-based and allows the network to be authenticated through external RADIUS servers. In addition, the function ACL (access control list) enhances network security and helps to protect the internal computer network. The DGS-1210-16 includes ARP Spoofing prevention, which protects from attacks on the Ethernet network that may allow an intruder to sniff data frames on a LAN, modify the traffic, or completely blocking the traffic by sending fake ARP messages to the network. To prevent ARP Spoofing attacks, the switch uses control ACLS to block invalid packets that contain fake ARP messages. For added security, the function of screening the DHCP server packets from rogue DHCP server from user ports to prevent you from assigning unauthorized IP. Versatile management The DGS-1210 provides a SmartConsole utility and a Web-based interface that allows administrators to control the network from a remote location to the port level. SmartConsole allows users to detect in a simple way and more Web Smart D-Link Switches within the same L2 network segment. With this utility, users do not need to change the IP address of their PC and it also becomes possible to perform an easy initial setting of Smart Switches. Switches within the same L2 network segment connected to the PC are displayed on screen for instant access. This allows extensive switch configuration settings and basic configuration of discovered devices such as password changes and firmware upgrades. The DGS-1210 series also supports D-View 6.0 network management system D-Link and the interface (CLI Command Line Interface through Telnet. The management of the switch via the CLI is possible via Telnet. This makes the adjustment of basic settings like password changes or upload configuration files and firmware. D-Link Green The DGS-1210 implements D-Link Green technology, an innovative idea that helps you save on energy costs without sacrificing operational performance or functionality. The switch reacts to the switch-off of connected devices, putting it in standby its port in order to reduce energy consumption. It also detects automatically the length of connected cables, which allows to reduce the consumption of energy on shorter cable connections up to 20 m. The D-Link Green certified and guarantees the conformity of the switch to the RoHS directives (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). The RoHS directive restricts the use of certain harmful materials in the production of electrical and electronic equipment, while WEEE applies standards to be followed in the matter of proper disposal and recyclable packaging to help reduce waste.
